The Ant and the Grasshopper

Once upon a time on a sunny day, a handsome grasshopper was happily playing and singing all day long.

"Look at this beautiful weather!" the grasshopper said happily. "I don't think the winter will ever come!" he continued.

"Oh yes it will my friend," a soft voice came from an tiny ant who had been working all season collecting food to store for the winter.

Soon the leaves began to fall and the weather turned cooler and cooler. Finally the winter set in and it started to snow.

While the ant and his family were eating the delicious meal he had prepared ahead of time, they heard this soft voice came from outside.

"I'm so cold and hungry dear Ant. Please give me something to eat," cried the grasshopper.

But the Ant replied, "I'm sorry Grasshopper, but this food I worked all season to collect is just enough for my own family."

The grasshopper kept on begging, but soon, his voice faded away and the grasshopper was never heard again.
